Lips, Legs and Locks in 'Broads' on Druid Lane for three nights from tonight

An all-girl team of Galwegian dramatists will begin a three-night run of their latest production Broads at Druid’s Mick Lally Theatre from this evening, Thursday, May 29, until Saturday, nightly, at 8pm.

Galway girls Laura Marie O’Connor, Katie Feeney and Ellen Greally will star in their original dark comedy on Druid Lane, in their home town, after a successful run at the Scene & Heard Festival at Dublin’s Smock Alley Theatre in February.

Broads is an absurdist, dark comedy following the misadventures of three New York ‘broads’ - Legs, Lips, and Locks - who find themselves at the centre of an “accidental murder” in the law firm where they work.

The tone of the show is quirky and offbeat, and explores the complexity and camaraderie of female friendships.

Directed and produced by O’Connor, she describes the play as “Think Father Ted with three female leads, and Bronx accents... ”

The show runs for 25 minutes, and will be followed by an audience question and answer session with the cast: O’Connor, Feeney and Greally, with Aran O’Brien and Tom Williams, and the creative team; Hannah Bevan (lighting ), Jess Harkin (sound design ), and James Boylan (sound ).
