Kate and Ava’s autumn/winter collection hits the shops this month and is being sold in a large number of stockists due to the popular demand of their stylish designs.
Madison, Upper Abbeygate st, Galway, will showcase the designers’ autumn/winter collection, which has promised to be their most interesting and wearable yet. The collection will still maintain their design ethos of classic shapes with intricate detailing, while using high quality fabrics.
This collection is feminine, with a hint of defiance, and body conscious sophistication is still toppling the cult of the sack dress. Kate and Ava autumn/winter 08 collection contains sateen wool dresses, with a luxurious fabric which comes in a strapless boned tulip dress. The dress is made edgy with a folding detail in high shine slither fabric, making it the perfect party dress, while the pockets give it a nonchalant feel.
For shoppers who are tired of voluminous trends and floaty summer fabrics, the Kate and Ava gathered bodice dress is perfect. The structured, asymmetrical, gathered bodice and fitted skirt should make anyone look like a Hitchcock heroine. For this effect with a difference, the gathered bodice dress also comes in a grey plaid and can be worn with a fine knit underneath for a more versatile look.
High drama silk tops with low key masculine trousers – Kate and Ava’s silk tops have kimono-like button and loop fastenings down the front with ruffles reaching all the way around an exaggerated arm hole. It can be worn with a simple tank and wool trousers for day wear.
Tunic dresses, available in grey, black, or this season’s hot raspberry colour, with a choice of high shine necklines or fringing on the sleeves, can be worn with leggings and boots or over jeans for a weekend look that is bang-on trend, but still comfortable.
Along with the party dresses, Kate and Ava love to design versatile day dresses, including button down shirt-dresses with bracelet length sleeves and a matching belt, and ‘60s inspired A-line mini dresses.
A silky wet-look crossover top gives a rebellious edge to an otherwise feminine collection while Kate and Ava's signature tailoring has resulted in a simple waistcoat style jacket with their signature wide leg trousers.
Their body skimming, silk georgette dresses are luxurious and feel feather-light against the skin. The fabric has a liquid quality and is in deep contrast to the heavily embellished neckline.
