Get ready to experience the return of one of Ireland’s most exciting sporting events – the Loughrea Triathlon Festival on Sunday, August 3, based at the Longpoint.

Nestled in the heart of County Galway, this annual event is a celebration of endurance, community, and the stunning natural beauty of Loughrea. Whether you are a seasoned athlete or a first-time participant, the Loughrea Triathlon Festival promises an unforgettable day of challenge and camaraderie.

The triathlon features a picturesque course that showcases the best of the Loughrea region. It kicks off with a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters of Loughrea Lake, followed by a scenic cycle through rolling countryside around Earlspark and Killnadeema and concludes with a run along the charming Lake Road towards town. Each leg of the race is designed to test your limits while immersing you in the breathtaking surroundings.

The races in this year’s festival are the Children’s Triathlon and the ATU Youth National Championship in the morning session, starting at 10am. This is followed by the National Triathlon Sprint Series races are in the afternoon at 1:30pm.
