Afternoon Tea in the City - The Galmont Hotel launches afternoon tea with a cosmopolitan twist

It’s time to shake up afternoon tea and The Galmont Hotel Galway’s latest offering reimagines tradition with a fresh modern twist. The popular hotel’s new Afternoon Tea in the City gives a more cosmopolitan approach to one of our favourite excuses for a get together.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of panoramic views across Lough Atalia from the city centre hotel’s relaxed and light-filled Coopers Lounge, the new afternoon tea is the perfect fit for modern tastes and cocktail connoisseurs.

Take a comfortable seat in the open and airy space and set the tone for your experience by selecting from loose-leaf teas and herbal blends from around the world, elevated with an elegant chilled glass of prosecco or the unexpected addition of an expertly mixed cocktail.

The range of delicious sweets, scones and savouries have been crafted with the creative flair that has come to be expected of The Galmont’s executive head chef Adrian Bane and his talented team. Sandwiches are generously filled with local produce from the kitchen’s trusted suppliers including: steamed chicken with mayo, leek and parsley stuffing on loaf bread; a creamy Ardsallagh goats cheese tartlet with beetroot and hazelnut; Galway Bay smoked salmon, pickled cucumber and dill mayo atop soft soda bread; and baked ham, Cheddar cheese, and red pepper relish on a blaa.

Fresh baked scones are served with lashings of cream and seasonal jam, while a tempting array of pastries and desserts continue to blend traditional favourites with modern flavours.

Ready to welcome friendly meet-ups, group gatherings and spontaneous indulgences from Thursday to Sunday, 2.30pm to 5pm, Saturday’s service hits an extra special note with a live pianist adding to the chilled yet vibrant vibe.

The Galmont’s Afternoon Tea in the City costs €50 per person (€39 per person without prosecco or cocktail ). To find out more visit www.thegalmont.com
