Citroen has unveiled its new second-generation C5 Aircross due to arrive in Ireland by the end of the year.
The new C5 Aircross sits on the Stellantis STLA Medium platform and is available in fully-electric, petrol plug-in hybrid, and mild-hybrid powertrains. The EV version has a claimed range of up to 680km, while Citroen says the PHEV version will do more than 100km in electric mode.
The e-C5 Aircross will be offered with the choice of a 210bhp motor combined with a 73kWh battery offering a range of 520km WLTP and a 230bhp motor paired with a 97kWh battery offering 680km WLTP. It is fitted as standard with an 11kW three-phase charger, and from 2026 will be able to receive an optional 22kW three-phase bi-directional charger for faster charging. From a 160kW fast charger, Citroen says the e-C5 Aircross can charge in just 27 minutes.
For the exterior, the new Citroen logo is displayed at its centre, which is interpreted by a new three-point light signature with particularly slender horizontal light strips while Citroen Matrix LED headlamps are linked by a chic, discreet gloss black strip.
Thanks to its increased wheelbase of 2.78m, the new C5 Aircross offers more knee and head room for rear passengers compared to the previous model. The backrests can be reclined between 21- and 33-degrees, adding to the comfort. All versions of the new C5 Aircross have a 651-litre boot.
The interior comprises the largest central HD touchscreen ever offered by Citroen. The large customisable area displays 3D navigation, controls the infotainment system, and allows widgets to be programmed for direct access to certain functions and positioned as desired on the screen, in a choice of sizes.
The new Citroen C5 Aircross and e-C5 Aircross will arrive in Ireland before the end of the year in time for the 261-registration period.
