This bank holiday weekend at Monroe’s Live promises two vibrant nights of entertainment, with comedy and music from top Irish stars.

This Saturday, May 3, acclaimed comedian, writer, and actor Peter McGann brings his latest show Ah No to the stage at 8pm.

McGann first gained a following for his sharp, satirical sketches during the pandemic and is now one of Ireland’s leading comedic voices.

With a growing list of credits, including a role in Chris O’Dowd’s new TV series Small Town, Big Story, McGann’s new show brings together the surreal with the sharply observed.

With tales of encountering the Chicago mafia, Cork flying columns, and D-list influencers, McGann can balance the absurd with the familiar, as he continues to evolve as a performer and writer.

This is a unique chance to see him at his most inventive this Saturday night, May 3rd. This fully seated show begins at 8pm, with tickets priced €22 from www.monroes.ie

Later that evening, Monroe’s Backstage will keep the party going with DJ Corey from 11pm.

Entry is €10 on the door.

On Sunday, May 4, Monroe’s hosts the official Nathan Carter after party, headlined by pop artist Jake Carter.

Following his brother’s concert at Leisureland, Jake brings his live band to Monroe’s for a high-energy performance.

Beginning his career in music at the age of 16, Jake has developed a distinct pop sound shaped by influences ranging from McFly, Take That, Harry Styles and Tom Grennan.

His latest EP, Point of You, highlights his growth, with standout tracks such as Loved Me Like You Do and Milk and Honey, produced by Richey McCourt.

Beyond music, Jake’s career spans television and stage, but live performance stays central to his artistic identity.

Galway fans can expect an upbeat, engaging set when doors open at 10pm. Early bird tickets €12 and general admission is €15, available on www.monroes.ie
