Sinn Féin TD for Galway West Mairéad Farrell has once again raised the importance of the retention of Mervue Bus Stop with the National Transport Authority.
She told the Advertiser that she has once again raised the importance of retaining the Mervue Bus Stop with the National Transport Authority in a meeting she had with them last week.
“There was a strong campaign by the local community encompassing residents and businesses alike. It is clear that the campaign was heard by the decision makers in Dublin.”
“The need for Mervue Bus Stop is evident for anyone who lives in Mervue or comes to Mervue. It is used by local residents as well as residents of neighbouring estates who come to Mervue to use the services there.
“It seems to me that this was a decision made by someone who had no experience of this and that is why it was so important that there was a clear message coming from Mervue on this issue.”
Deputy Farrell concluded by saying that she will continue to raise this issue with the NTA and hopes that they will see common sense on this and retain the stop.
