The Galway Ladies football team secured their immediate return to Division 1 league football with a comprehensive victory over Monaghan last weekend. They travel to Clare this Sunday for the final league fixture of the campaign.
With promotion and a place in the final secured, Sunday's match will be an opportunity for the Tribeswomen to prepare for their meeting with Cork in the final and end the campaign with a 100 per cent record of six wins from six. However, victory will not come easy as Clare need a result to aid their efforts in avoiding the drop.
The final will be contested on April 14 between Galway and Cork, both of whom were relegated from Division 1 last year. Both secured their places in the final with victories last weekend.
Galway defeated Monaghan by an incredible scoreline of 7-23 to 0-04. The Tribeswomen dominated throughout with six different goalscorers with Róisín Leonard bagging a brace and a goal each for Olivia Divilly, Eva Noone, Kate Thompson, Shauna Hynes, and AIB LGFA Club Player of the Year Louise Ward.
Galway will hope to keep that thirst for goals ahead of the league final and upcoming championship campaign.
