FORUM Connemara CLG is tomorrow officially launching the WorkAbility: Inclusive Pathways to Employment Project – ‘Working Together / Ag Obair Le Chéile’ and is also launching a Toolkit for Employers.
FORUM Connemara is working towards creating inclusive workplaces by supporting people with disabilities or mental health conditions together with employers.
The project and Toolkit will be officially launched at 11am by Minister of State with responsibility for Disabilities, Hildegarde Naughton. The launch will include speakers representing participants, employers, FORUM Connemara and will be attended by national and local politicians, WorkAbility participants and families, employers, disability services, community representatives and local media.
The WorkAbility: Inclusive Pathways to Employment Programme is a new programme, co-financed by the EU Employment, Inclusion, Skills and Training Programme (EIST )2021 – 2027 and the department of Social Protection (DSP ).
The objectives of the programme are:
1. To improve the employment prospects of people with disabilities who are currently distant from the labour market
2. To build the capacity of employers to recruit, retain and progress people within their workforce;
3. To facilitate new partnerships amongst stakeholders (people with disabilities, disability services, employment services and employers )
