Help a mother in need this Mother's Day with Community Connect's Drive and Drop event.

Community Connect, Ireland’s Baby Bank Charity, is launching their annual Drive and Drop Donation Campaign, urging supporters to donate essential items for a family in need.

Community Connect partners with maternity hospitals, homeless agencies, domestic violence services and health professionals around Ireland to provide support to pregnant women and new mothers in need, and to alleviate child poverty in Ireland, where a quarter of a million children are now living in poverty.

As well as providing donated pre-loved baby equipment like buggies, Moses baskets, cots and baby clothes, they also provide gift packages filled with necessities such as nappies, maternity items and hygiene items.

The charity relies on the generosity of volunteers and donors around Ireland to continue its work, and so is inviting people to get involved and support Drive and Drop on Sunday, March 23. By following these three easy steps, you can make a huge difference:

1. Check the list of items accepted.

2. Pick up some items from the list in your weekly shop.

3. Drop them to the volunteers on Sunday, March 23 at the Oranmore and Renmore drop-off points.

CEO and Co-Founder of Community Connect, Elaine Noonan said: "We are seeing demand for the services we provide continuing to grow. Every hospital maternity bag or pack of essential items makes a real difference to a pregnant or post-partum mother and her baby, and we want to help as many as we can this Mother’s Day.

"Our upcoming Drive and Drop event is a way to donate new baby items to vulnerable families. All the items donated will be delivered to pregnant women and new mothers in need in the coming weeks and months.

"We are so grateful to our volunteers and supporters for what we have achieved so far and we hope to continue with this essential work, to help as many expecting mothers and families with young babies as possible."
