A day in the life of a Community Support Worker: Make every moment count

Imagine starting your day knowing you are about to make a real difference in someone’s life. As a Community Support Worker with Brothers of Charity Services Ireland – West Region, that is exactly what awaits you.

Your day kicks off early, with a warm smile and a positive attitude. You meet the person you’re supporting at their home or in the community ready to help the person live as independently as possible. Whether it is accompanying the person to a local café, supporting the person to access employment or education supports, or just helping the person to find out about local community activities, you’re there to support and advocate with that person to achieve their hopes and dreams.

You will assist in setting and achieving personal goals, whether it is learning new skills, making friends, or simply getting out and about. The job is diverse, fun, and rewarding – each day brings something new.

Throughout the day, you will travel across Galway, using your full manual driving licence to support people in different locations. Your role is not just about providing assistance but empowering individuals to take control of their own lives.

At the end of the day, you reflect on the positive impact you’ve had, knowing you have helped someone feel more connected, capable, and independent.

This is not just a job – it’s an opportunity to change lives, including your own. If you want a career where every day is meaningful and impactful, apply today at careers.brothersofcharity.ie
