Cllr Andrew Reddington

Cllr Andrew Reddington has announced progress on the Community Transport Study for Headford, an important initiative aimed at enhancing transportation in the area. As this is only the second study of its kind conducted nationally, some timelines and deliverables may present challenges.

Currently, Galway County Council (GCC ) is actively working behind the scenes. The council has conducted several information-gathering sessions, internal project reviews, and desktop surveys to comprehensively understand the transportation needs of Headford.

The Systra team, GCC’s Transportation Planning and Design Consultant, has scheduled site visits and surveys in the coming days to complete this crucial phase of the project.

This Community Transport Study will explore key themes, including public transport, schools, active travel, road safety, and parking. Galway County Council anticipates releasing the study for public consultation in the second quarter of this year.

Cllr Reddington encourages community members to stay engaged and look out for further updates as the project progresses.
