The November Swim, hosted by the Galway Lions Club, has been a beloved tradition for over 20 years. Each year members and friends of the Galway Lions Club take a plunge into the cold Atlantic waters to raise funds for local causes. In 2024, the Galway Lions Club continued this tradition by supporting HopeSpace Galway, a children’s grief service, and raised over €15,000.

HopeSpace is a newly established local charity that provides free, one-to-one grief support for children and young people in Galway who have lost a loved one. Grief can be overwhelming for anyone, but especially for children who may not have the tools to process such a profound experience. HopeSpace offers a safe and supportive environment where trained volunteers help these young individuals navigate their emotions and understand that grief is a normal response to loss.

The November swim has always been more than just a fundraiser—it is a testament to the spirit of the Galway community. Over the past two decades, this event has brought people together for a common cause, demonstrating that when a community rallies behind a shared goal, they can achieve incredible things. Whether you are swimming, sponsoring, or cheering from the shore, your support matters.
