The closing date to enter Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartartaigh, Galway’s bilingual business award, is tomorrow Friday, February 14. To apply, simply complete a short application form (www.gleg.ie ) and foireann Ghaillimh le Gaeilge will contact you to prepare you for the bilingual awards.
Now in its 23rd year, Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh, Galway’s own bilingual business award, recognizes and celebrates companies and organisations that use the Irish language in their day-to-day business in Ireland’s Bilingual City. Gaillimh le Gaeilge, in association with the Galway Advertiser, and TG4 and with the support from Galway Chamber organises Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh. The Gradam is named in honour of the late Seosamh Ó hÓgartaigh, founding member and company secretary of Gaillimh le Gaeilge.
Máirtín Óg Lally from Lally Tours winner of Gradam 24 shares his experience of the Gradam:
“Bhí ríméad orainn an chatagóir ‘Turasóireacht’ a bhuachan chomh maith le bheith fógraithe mar bhuaiteoirí foriomlána an Ghradaim in 2024! We were delighted to win both the Tourism category and the overall Gradam in 2024! Furthermore, we were amazed at the reach and exposure Gradam Sheosaimh Ui Ógartaigh has provided us with.”

They will offer you the ‘Gaeilge sa Ghnó/Irish in Business’ service free of charge. This service is a designed bespoke package in which you are guided through the process of adapting some or all of your business to bilingualism.
You have six weeks to prepare for the Gradam. The team will arrange a meeting with you and review your business in terms of its visual image – signage, marketing material, social media, advertising etc. They will examine various possibilities in terms of the use of Irish in your business or organisation.
