Daróg Wine Bar has been recognised by the Michelin Guide 2025 with a prestigious Bib Gourmand, while owner and sommelier Zsolt Lukács has been honoured with the Sommelier Award.

This year’s Michelin ceremony, which took place on Monday at Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum in Glasgow, also saw Lignum restaurant in Bullaun near Loughrea recieve a Michelin Star thanks to owner Danny Africano’s creative use of wood-fire flavours in his produce.

The Bib Gourmand distinction highlights restaurants offering outstanding food at great value, a recognition that underscores Daróg Wine Bar’s commitment to exceptional, ingredient-led cooking and its carefully curated wine selection.

Meanwhile, the Sommelier Award celebrates Zsolt Lukács’s dedication to wine, his deep knowledge, and his passion for sharing it with guests.

Michelin describes Zsolt as “an engaging, dedicated man who is clearly so passionate about the wine list he has curated here. His recommendations are knowledgeable and thoughtfully considered, then communicated to guests in a refreshingly unpretentious way that makes them feel relaxed and comfortable.”

“This is a moment we’ll never forget,” said Edel McMahon-Lukács, owner of Daróg Wine Bar. “To receive a Bib Gourmand and for Zsolt to be recognised for his expertise in wine is truly special. We are beyond grateful to our incredible team, our wonderful guests, and everyone who has supported us on this journey.”

Since opening, Daróg Wine Bar has built a reputation for its focus on small, artisan wine producers, sustainability, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
