Specsavers Galway has announced a major sponsorship deal with the Galway branch of the Irish Soccer Referees’ Society (ISRS ). The partnership will see all four Galway Specsavers stores (Headford Road, Eyre Square, Knocknacarra and Tuam ) provide the referees with vibrant new kits through to the end of the 2026 football season.
The ISRS has been serving football at all levels since 1959, providing training and development for referees across the country. The sponsorship will be seen across the local football community, with the Galway branch’s 57 referees officiating nearly 200 matches every week.
“This sponsorship is a fantastic opportunity for Specsavers to support grassroots football in Galway,” said Mike Cubbard, Chairman of the Galway branch of the ISRS. “Our referees are the backbone of the game, and this partnership with Specsavers ensures they look professional and feel supported every time they step onto the pitch. The distinctive new pink and yellow jerseys will certainly make them stand out.”
