Let the reincarnation begin

Wilderland Productions is bringing its play The Reincarnation of Cornelius Agrippa to St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church Galway this February 24 to February 28.

Based on historical events this one-man play is set in 1519 in the town of Metz. The notorious Cornelius Agrippa succeeds in defending a condemned witch in court against the Inquisition, the only time in history this has ever happened. Now, he must defend the condemned again.

Funds from the opening night performance on February 24 will go towards local charity COPE Galway.

Performer and writer of The Reincarnation of Cornelius Agrippa Martin Sullivan, who grew up in Galway says: “The idea to bring the show to Galway came from conversations with members of COPE Galway following shows in Dublin last October. I was struck not only by the dedication and work of the people working within homeless services but also the resilience of those accessing those services. While the opening night proceeds will go to COPE Galway, I also want to thank local Galway businesses like Powells Music Shop and Charlie Byrnes Bookshop as well as Dublin Fringe Lab for their invaluable support as well.”

“St Nicholas’s Church itself was chosen for its stunning visual qualities lending it to an adaptation of The Reincarnation of Cornelius Agrippa that will retain a dramatic effect outside of a traditional stage setting. As St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church is a charity itself, I am delighted that the venue rental is going towards the upkeep of one of Galway’s most iconic medieval spaces.”
