Significant infrastructural damage along the route has resulted in the postponement of this weekend’s 2025 Corrib Galway International Rally.
In a statement on Monday, the organisers said Storm Éowyn has caused significant infrastructural damage along the rally route and that priority must be given to workers bringing back crucial services to those living along the rally route.
They said that they wish to thank Motorsport Ireland for their support and guidance over the last number of days and will work closely with them to find an alternative date to run the event later in the year.”
The organisers wish to extend gratitude to their sponsors, Corrib Oil and have been communicating with all entrants regarding refunds of entry fees.
The rally began in 1971 and is the oldest international rally in Ireland.
The event usually marks the start of the tarmac rallying season in Ireland. The course runs over fifteen stages amounting to 194.4 kilometres.
