XV Arena — indoor soccer facility opens in Ballybane

A new and exciting sports facility, XVArena, has officially opened its doors in Ballybane, Galway City, offering state-of-the-art indoor soccer facilities to local players of all ages. The facility hosted an Open Weekend recently which saw over 100 children enjoy free professional training sessions, and was attended by some of Galway’s top footballing talents, including senior players from Galway United, Galway City Deputy Mayor, Níall McNelis and local footballing legends.

Located in the Ballybane Industrial Estate, the XVArena is a purpose built venue designed to foster the growth of soccer in Galway. With a huge focus on providing high-quality training to Galway’s young stars.

The XVAcademy coaches train players from the ripe age of 4 years to 14. The facility features a kids size 5-a-side UEFA standard astro, and a comfortable stand for parents to relax and watch the training sessions.

The facility is also ideal for hosting your son or daughter’s next birthday party, in a dry and controlled environment.

The weekend was a tremendous success, with children from all over the city and surrounding areas taking part in various training sessions from Saturday morning to Sunday evening. The owners, Xavi Vázquez, Conor O’Keeffe, and Francis Kelly, generously offered the training places free of charge to local young players, to give them a proper feel for the facility.

“We are thrilled to see such an amazing turnout for our opening weekend,” said Xavi Vázquez, one of the facility’s co-owners.

“Our goal with XVArena is to provide a space where young talent can grow, improve their skills, and develop a love for the game. We believe that by offering these free sessions to local players, we can help nurture the next generation of soccer stars.”

Deputy Mayor, Níall McNelis had this to say about the new facility: “I really wish anyone who sets up a business, in our local community, the best of success. Anything that encourages young people to get out and exercise is a huge bonus mentally and physically. I can see The XVArena being a huge success with the soccer players of Galway, whether young or old.”

In addition to the young players, the event attracted many notable figures from Galway’s footballing community. Several senior players from Galway United, as well as well-known local footballing figures, were present to support the new facility and engage with aspiring athletes.

Their presence was a clear indication of the importance the XVArena will play in the development of football in Galway.

Conor O’Keeffe, another co-owner of XVArena and ex-Galway United player, commented, “It’s great to see so much enthusiasm from the local community. Football is a vital part of Galway’s culture, and we hope that XVArena will serve as a central hub for both recreational players and aspiring professionals alike.”

The XVArena offers a variety of services including regular training camps, individual coaching sessions, and team training programs. It is also available for birthday parties, events, and private bookings. With its modern amenities and dedication to football excellence, the XVArena is set to become a key player in Galway’s sports scene.
