Independent Cllr Terry O’Flaherty has confirmed that further to her ongoing representations to Irish Rail to carry out resurfacing on the Military Path in Renmore known locally as “The Line,” that this work is going to be carried out shortly.
She received confirmation yesterday from an official in Irish Rail that they have agreed to carry out the badly needed resurfacing works next month.
The contractor will be commencing works starting from Tuesday Feb 4 until Friday Feb 14, the works will take place during the hours from 8am to 6pm and the pathway will be closed to the public during this period.
The contractor will be placing signs at the start and the end of the pathway informing the public about this work and the closure.
“This is very good news for all those who walk along this route as the refurbishments will enhance this area greatly.
“I would like to thank Irish Rail for taking my representations onboard which will be welcomed by many,” added Cllr O’Flaherty.
