The Galmont Hotel & Spa in Galway is preparing to host the 13th Annual Business Events Conference taking place on Thursday and Friday February 6/7.

The event which usually attracts around 200 conference organisers from across the country will be a prime opportunity for the city to showcase all that it has to offer as a compelling conference and event destination supported by Galway Convention Bureau and Galway City Council.

General Manager of The Galmont Hotel & Spa & Chairperson of Galway Convention Bureau Stefan Lundstrom said they are honoured to have been selected as the host venue for this year’s Annual Business Events Conference and couldn’t be more excited about all the potential that having this two-day event in Galway carries for the city.

“In addition to showcasing all the state-of-the-art facilities at The Galmont Hotel itself, our team of event organisers are also passionate about showing off The City of Tribes in a creative and unexpected way, from the stunning St Nicholas Church as an atmospheric drinks reception venue, to showcasing local suppliers and partners, and a whistlestop tour of all the local sights during a morning fun run. Galway is guaranteed to impress.”

The conference is powered by The Association of Irish Professional Conference Organisers (AIPCO ), who are the professional association for conference organisers in Ireland. The association is committed to raising standards of service among its members and other sectors of the meetings industry by means of continuing education and interaction with other professionals. AIPCO works closely with Failte Ireland, the Regional Conventional Bureaux and all industry partners in developing Ireland into an International Conference hub.

The theme of this year’s conference is Tides of Change: Navigating success through collaboration, with speakers including: Maria Melia, Head of Tourism Marketing Division in the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media; alongside Mathias Posch, Past president of IAPCO and Betina Reventlow-Mourier, Deputy Convention Director – Copenhagen Convention Bureau who will add an international perspective to the discussion.
