Toyota tops Irish charts for fourth successive year

Sales figures for 2024 have revealed that Toyota was Ireland's best-selling car brand for the fourth year in a row.

Toyota sold 17,521 passenger cars in 2024, over 4,000 more than second-best manufacturer Volkswagen. Almost 95 per cent of sales were electrified vehicles.

Six Toyota hybrid models featured in the top 15 best-selling cars of 2024. The models included were the RAV4 hybrid and plug-in hybrid, Yaris, Yaris Cross, Corolla, Corolla Cross, and Toyota C-HR hybrid and plug-in hybrid.

The brand's top model in 2024 was the RAV4. A total of 3,536 units of the model were sold last year.

Toyota has the widest range of electrified cars in the Irish market with a choice of hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery electric vehicle options. Hybrid options proved popular amongst Irish drivers in 2024 as all hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles secured a combined market share of 32.5 per cent.
