Local Galway busker Jamie McIntyre has collaborated with Tipperary native Dàwna on their take of the Christmas classic, Fairytale of New York.
The pair met when they were picked by Gavin James as support acts for his tour in Paris earlier this year as part of Three’s City Stages initiative.
Dàwna recently joined Jamie as special guest on his first ever headline show at The Loft in Galway where the pair performed their version of the Christmas classic to the sellout crowd.
Jamie’s year has been nothing short of successful with his single Over Galway Town amassing over 1.6 million streams on Spotify, as well as performing at Electric Picnic and supporting Jamie Webster on his recent shows in Ireland.
Dàwna has had an equally prosperous year, performing Fairytale of New York at the official unveiling of the Shane McGowan mural in Nenagh in October with the legendary Pogue singer’s family in attendance. He also performed his new single Meant to Be on Virgin Media’s Six O’Clock show.
