Galway’s beloved indie folk-rock sensation, The Amazing Apples, return to Monroe’s for a foot-stomping performance with special significance on Saturday, December 21.
This December gig at the award-winning venue marks the final performance of band member Cian - his last bite of the apple - as he steps away after nearly 17 years.
“Cian has been a big part of this band since the beginning, and we want to thank him for putting up with us for so long,” said bandmates Brian, Darragh, Eamon, and Cathal. “While it won’t be quite the same without him, we’re excited about the next chapter, with new music on the horizon for 2025.”
Renowned for their high-energy shows, the band promise a night of rollicking Irish, Americana, and heavy rock anthems.
With a mix of original compositions and covers, The Amazing Apples are folk-rock stalwarts at home and abroad. Over the years, they’ve earned their place on the stages of Ireland’s most iconic music festivals, including Electric Picnic, Sea Sessions, and Indiependence.
They’ve also supported the likes of Walking on Cars, The Coronas, Gavin James, Ryan Sheridan, Damien Dempsey, Paddy Casey, Sharon Shannon, and Mundy. In 2017, they joined the Saw Doctors for a full tour of Ireland, solidifying their reputation as dynamic, live performers.
The band has also toured beyond Ireland, to New York, Boston, Britain, Romania, and Switzerland. With influences ranging from The Dubliners to The Waterboys, their debut album, A Little Sense, soared to number three in the Irish indy charts.
Support is for Cian’s last Apples gig is from The Dukes.
