There are a variety of local authority grants designed to help with the costs of necessary home adaptions. These grants, such as the 'Housing Adaption Grant for People With a Disability', the 'Housing Aid for Older People' or the 'Mobility Aids Grants Scheme', aim to assist applicants in the process of upgrading their in-home support, resulting in a safe and functional living environment.
These grants cover 95 per cent / 100 per cent of the cost of upgrading your home depending on household income. Eligible applicants can access financial support designed to support all kinds of upgrades. With up to €30,000 worth of funding available through the Housing Adaptation Grant for People with a Disability, up to €6,000 for the Mobility Aids Housing Grant, and up to €8,000 available through the Housing Aid for Older People grant, there are a variety of schemes on offer.
