Catholic radio station Radio Maria Ireland will be holding its very first Christmas Fundraiser tonight, Thursday, December 12, at the Galway Bay Hotel in Salthill from 6pm.
The event will include a four-course meal, fantastic raffle prizes, and live entertainment featuring local musician James Kilbane. Also in attendance will be John Carlin and Deacon Don Devaney, the President and Spiritual Director of Radio Maria. They will share some highlights of the station's year.
As a registered charity, Radio Maria Ireland seeks to provide an easy listening service free of commercial advertising. It provides a variety of programming, prayer, and music 24 hours a day. The three pillars of its broadcasting are catechesis, prayer, and human formation, accompanying listeners on their own journey of faith.
