Do you want to work in a different European country?

Galway event to provide job seekers with info on the prospects of working overseas

Are you interested in exploring job opportunities and working conditions in 10 other European countries. If so, you must get along to an event being held in Galway tomorrow Friday and Saturday when EURES advisers representing employers from Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and United Kingdom will be available to advise those interested in employment and career development options in their countries.

In addition, the event at the Eyre Square Centre will see speakers providing general information on living and working conditions in their countries, including information on taxation, social security and business start up supports.

Staff will be available from the Irish Revenue Commissioners, Social Welfare and FAS to assist with queries in their area of expertise.

The event is one of a series of exhibitions being held throughout the country, and is organised by FÁS International Employment Services.

Similar exhibitions have been held in Dublin, Limerick and Cork in recent months and they demonstrate FÁS’ continued commitment to working closely with other European public employment services in providing employment advice given the current difficult labour market situation.

FÁS is part of a European Commission network called EURES (EURopean Employment Services ). EURES advisers are trained specialists who provide information and guidance to jobseekers and employers interested in the European labour market. The EURES service is free of charge.

FÁS staff will also be available to provide information on the range of services and training courses available throughout Galway, Mayo and Roscommon. For the first time, this year’s range of training options includes courses such as CompTIA A+ which is delivered through a combination of self-directed online material with tutorial support and tutor led workshops at designated training locations.

The event will be open on Friday, July 10 from 5pm to 8pm and on Saturday July 11, from 11pm to 4pm.
