Ring in 2025 with Kíla beats

Kíla will take over the stage on New Year’s Eve at Monroe’s Live on Tuesday, December 31, with support from Galway’s very own Dead Letter Devils.

This eight-piece world music phenomenon will lead the celebrations, delivering their trademark blend of fiery folk-rock with a global twist.

Known for their tribal energy, Kíla combine the essence of Irish tradition with a vibrant mix of international influences. Their performances feature the sounds of djembe, congas, brass and bass, creating a raw sound that is both joyful and exhilarating.

With roots in Irish heritage, they bring together traditional, classical, and rock elements into compositions that are both free-spirited and deeply captivating.

Formed in the late 1980s, Kíla has earned its place as one of Ireland’s most innovative bands, making their mark in film and television soundtracks.

From their Emmy-nominated score for Ireland’s Wild River to their collaborations on Oscar-nominated animations such as The Secret of Kells and Song of the Sea, Kíla’s versatility and talent is boundless.

On New Year’s Eve, Monroe’s Live offers a perfect setting to ring in 2025 with Kíla’s energetic rhythms. They will be supported Dead Letter Devils, who will deliver a foot-stomping blend of bluegrass, swing, old-timey, and just a hint of folk-punk.

Formed in 2018, Dead Letter Devils grew organically from the streets of Galway with members hailing from Texas, Switzerland, Brazil, Russia, Leitrim and County Down.

Featuring banjo, fiddle, harmonica, double bass, cajon, and guitar, Dead Letter Devils music conjures images of dusty trails, whiskey-fuelled saloons, and frontier legends as they explore the good, the bad, and the ugly of life.

Meanwhile, in the Backstage Venue, DJ Flako will keep the party going with his ‘Flashback’ set, featuring the best anthems, throwbacks, and classic hits to keep everyone dancing well into 2025.
