Connacht youngsters win All Ireland crown

Connacht won the u-13 2009 Gaynor Cup in Limerick, having progressed through the tournament unbeaten.

Grouped with Munster South and Dublin South, the advanced with 5-3 and 3-1 victories respectively to top their group and qualify for the cup finals along with the other group winners Ulster and Dublin North.

Against Ulster, they held a 2-1 at half time, and a superb defensive performance saw them hold out for a deserved win. Needing only a win or draw against Dublin North, they took a 2 - 0 lead into the second half before killing off the game with two more goals early in the second half to ensure they were crowned All Ireland champions.
