At National Learning Network (NLN ) Galway, they offer a range of flexible training programmes and support services designed to help students succeed, forge friendships, develop confidence, and prepare for careers that suit them best. They specialise in providing tailored support for individuals with mental health issues, autism, social anxiety, learning difficulties, and sensory, intellectual and physical disabilities.

Justin, a student on the Skills 4 Life course at NLN Galway shared his experience:

“It’s not stressful. You’re not dreading coming in every morning. I found in school I felt very depressed and isolated and nobody wanted you to do your own thing. They just narrowed you into what they think you should be. But here, they explain things and don’t treat you like a child. That’s one of the main things I struggled with in school. If you’re struggling in the class and you’re embarrassed you can just pull one of the tutors aside and they’ll help you. Coming to NLN has set me up for life and made me feel like I’m good enough to continue on this path and now I won’t doubt myself as much as I would have.”

Our mission is to empower students to embark on positive learning journeys that lead to further education, higher education, and employment. We cater for students aged 18 and over, many of whom have left school or college early, unsure of their next steps, who need support to explore their talents and strengths.

NLN offers small class sizes and a person-centred approach, tailored to each student’s pace and needs. We also offer access to psychological and advocacy support to help students achieve both personal and learning goals.

Certified courses running in the Galway centre include Skills for Life, Fresh Start, Landscaping, Employer Based Training, Home-Based Computers and Plans for Me. For more information visit www.nln.ie or contact 086 0432 617 / [email protected].
