Fidelity Investments, a global financial services company, employs over 1,900 people across our Dublin and Galway locations in Ireland. At Fidelity, they recognise the value their support can add to the education infrastructure in Ireland to help address the STEM talent shortage, reduce social disadvantages, and ensure educational opportunities for all.

Their mission to inspire better futures underscores a commitment to advance diversity and inclusion through a well-considered corporate social responsibility strategy.

Karen Conway, Vice President of Technology Management, and co-chair of the Women in Technology (WIT ) Associate Network at Fidelity Ireland, shares our approach:

“At Fidelity Ireland, we’re passionate about empowering the next generation through our STEM education programmes. By offering resources, real-world experiences, and steadfast support, we aim to inspire brighter futures for all students, especially those from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds. Together, we’re building a more inclusive and innovative future.”

Fidelity’s commitment to support STEM education shines through our engagement with over 20 educational programmes. To ensure a fully inclusive approach, we manage programmes across key life stages, from primary and secondary education to career development.

In collaboration with Junior Achievement Ireland, the “Our World” programme has impacted 8,335 students since 2021. Fidelity's CodePlus programme collaboration with the University of Galway has reached over 3,500 female students in the 2023/2024 academic year through coding workshops, career insight sessions, and office visits. Most recently, they launched the Women in STEM Scholarship Fund with Dublin City University to support female students pursuing Science, Technology, Maths or Engineering courses.

This year to date, Fidelity Ireland has donated over 850 laptops, helping schools set up computer rooms for the Computer Science curriculum and making STEM accessible to 9,400 students across Ireland. Each year, Fidelity Ireland welcomes over 500 teachers and students to our offices, offering real-world experiences that showcase the opportunities and career paths in STEM.

While financial support is crucial, the true impact stems from the active engagement of Fidelity Ireland’s employees and the real-world opportunities provided to students. Our employee-led efforts include Root2STEM, a transition year STEM work experience programme.

Through diverse educational and employability programmes, Fidelity Ireland aims to break down barriers for students at all levels and inspire brighter futures for those from diverse backgrounds. To learn more about Fidelity Ireland, visit FidelityInvestments.ie
