The upcoming series of Kinvara Adventure Talks will hear from people who have walked, climbed and sailed on three continents, along with advice on how to prepare for your own adventure.

Now in their 10th season, Kinvara Adventure Talks take place in Tully's Bar in Kinvara on Thursdays throughout November, beginning at 8pm with doors open at 7.30pm.

This year's speakers include Máirtín Óg McDonagh, who will talk about summitting Argentina's Aconcagua, the tallest peak in the Southern Hemisphere, with his son Seán Óg and friend Miko Keane. This talk will take place on November 7.

On November 14, the Kinvara Adventure Talks team will discuss preparing for travel. Donal Hogan will talk about equipment, Andreas Riemenschneider about taking quality photos and camera equipment, and Karen Weekes will share ideas for mentally preparing for upcoming ventures.

Sailing in the Arctic is the subject of the November 21 event, when Pauline Jordan talks about her two-month expedition focusing on the effects of climate change on Greenland’s people, their traditional hunting and fishing methods, and their daily lives.

Finally, on November 28, when Jasper Winn will recall his 800km midwinter walk from Munich to Paris, mirroring Werner Herzog's walk 40 years earlier, with minimal gear, and sleeping out in harsh conditions. Winn will also share adventures in extreme weather using bushcraft, and walking mostly in the dark.

The talks will also feature an adventure book swap, and attendees are encouraged to bring along any adventure books you would like to swap with others on the night.
