Innovative sculpture exhibition to open in Galway next week

That’s Life, an exhibition of sculptures by clients of Brothers of Charity Services Galway, will open at Nuns Island Theatre next week.

That’s Life is an award-winning arts and personal development programme of the Brothers of Charity Services Galway, which offers opportunities for people with intellectual disability to discover and realise their artistic potential.

Working with established artists and organisations, they create beautiful work that contributes to the cultural and artistic life of their community.

This exhibition is the result of explorations in clay sculpture with ceramic artist Tatiana Dobos collaborating with a group of That’s Life art makers, Nathan Murray, Uday Dufani, AnneMarie Whyte, Darragh Shaughnessy, Colm Biggins, Gerard Holian and Leah Connolly.

Tatiana Dobos led the participants through a variety of ways of working with and shaping clay, both in the studio and outdoors in the natural environment. As part of this exhibition you will have the chance to use some clay and contribute to a collective piece that will remain in the exhibition for its duration.

The exhibition will officially open in Nuns Island Theatre next Wednesday, October 30 at 12 noon. It will run until Saturday, November 2. The exhibition will be open from 10am to 5pm daily.

Tatiana Dobos, originally from Moldova and now based in Galway, creates ceramics that vividly express human emotions. Working with terracotta and stoneware, her pieces emphasise a dialogue between feelings, forms, and colors, inviting viewers to connect with the emotions she portrays.
