Hejira invites all to celebrate Joni Mitchell

Hejira, a seven-piece band that pays tribute to Joni Mitchell, is coming to Monroe’s Live on Sunday, October 27, at 7.30pm.

Fronted by Hattie Whitehead, the group is heavily inspired by Joni Mitchell, in particular her live album Shadows and Light which featured jazz virtuosos like Pat Metheny, Jaco Pastorius, and Michael Brecker.

The group brings this album to life, offering a unique flare to Joni Mitchell's classic hits like 'Amelia', 'Woodstock', 'A Case of You' and 'Edith and the Kingpin'.

Lead by the vocals of Whitehead, the band of jazz experts honours the catalogue of Joni Mitchell and celebrates the work of the renowned musician.

The band consists of Ollie Weston on tenor and soprano saxophones, Chris Eldred on keyboards, Pete Oxley on guitar, Dave Jones on bass, Rick Finlay on drums and percussionist Marc Cecil.

Tickets are €25. For more details visit www.monroes.ie
