BAFTA and Perrier Award-winning comedian and actor Dylan Moran has landed himself a new role: Artist In Residence for the Galway Comedy Festival.
The 2024 festival runs from Tuesday, October 22, to Monday, October 28. As well as the multi-talented Moran performing stand-up comedy across the week, he is now, officially, a member of the Festival’s team, and has even drawn up pictures to prove it.
From Wednesday, October 23, a special exhibition of Moran’s painted works will be on display for visitors to Outset Gallery at the Cornstore in Galway’s Latin Quarter. This exhibit will also showcase works created by fellow comedians with an artistic bent: Colin Murphy and Phill Jupitus.
In addition to the exhibition, Dylan and the festival team have curated a line-up of interactive and engaging events to take place at the Outset Gallery, with exhibitions open daily from 10.30am to 5pm. Through workshops, classes, conversations and collaborative events, the line between passive audience member and active creator will be blissfully blurred.
