John Faulkner’s memoir launching in Kennys’ Bookshop next week

The launch of musician and singer/songwriter John Faulkner’s new book about his career in music, Storm in my Heart, will take place on Friday, October 11 at Kennys Bookshop, Liosbán. The book will be launched by James Harrold and all are welcome - this is a free ticket event but booking is required.

John Faulkner is a folk artist who lives in Kinvara, Co. Galway. He has toured the world as a musician and shared the stage with some of the greats in Irish music, and has been working in music for over six decades. He is a multi-instrumentalist, film composer, producer, singer and songwriter.

Storm in My Heart is John’s highly personal account of his life in music, from his childhood in wartime London, through his years in the English folk explosion and on to life in Ireland as a significant player in the traditional music scene.

In a lifetime’s journey, he falls under the influence of Ewan McColl and Peggy Seeger, marries singer Dolores Keane, and moves to County Galway where he brings his words and music to the world.

In his memoir, John recalls his work with Frankie Gavin, Alec Finn, John Prine and others, revealing the dark arts of the Irish music business while revelling in the freewheeling delights of a life devoted to performing.

All are welcome to the launch of John Faulkner’s Storm in my Heart in Kennys Bookshop, Liosbán Retail Park, Galway on Friday, October 11 from 6pm. For free tickets and information, visit www.kennys.ie/events or contact the bookshop.
