The Positive Ageing Week Local Heroes Exhibition launched in Galway City Museum in Galway City Museum on October 1.
The event featured 27 people from across Galway who were recognised for their contributions to the community and their positive mindset towards ageing.
The event was officiated by Mayor of Galway Cllr Peter Keane and Galway County Council Cathaoirleach Albert Dolan. The event was an opportunity to show appreciation for the local heroes as well as act as a reminder to appreciate the older people in our lives.
The Local Heroes initiative in Galway is a collaboration of Galway City and County Councils, COPE Galway, Galway Rural Development and Galway City Partnership.
