There is welcome news in the housing market in Galway with the launch of Garraí na Gaoithe, an exceptional new homes scheme of stylish and contemporary two, three and four bedroom, A-rated houses. The scheme is one of the new Government incentive schemes aimed at promoting home ownership by helping to bridge the gap between the mortgage a household qualifies for and the price of the house. Liam Conneally, chief executive of Galway County Council commented: “Garraí na Gaoithe is in the Galway Metropolitan Area Strategic Plan (MASP ) area and is situated within a 10km commute of Galway city. Due to the development’s proximity to local services and schools, we are expecting significant interest in the homes that will be welcoming their new owners in January.”
The remaining 12 houses in Phase 1 will be available to buyers who may not qualify or do not wish to avail of the Affordable Purchase Scheme. Purchasers of these houses may wish to avail of other Government incentive schemes, including the Help to Buy scheme and the First Home Scheme (www.firsthomescheme.ie ).
