Independent city councillor Declan McDonnell has welcomed confirmation that work is due to commence on upgrading the road surfaces in McDermott Avenue and Tone Avenue in Mervue.
He said he had allocated some of his Local Improvement Scheme funds towards the works, which were badly needed.
Cllr McDonnell expressed gratitude to Noel O’Ceallaigh, Executive Engineer in the City Council’s Roads and Transportation Department, and his team for starting work on footpath repairs in McDonagh Avenue.
“He has informed me that the work on resurfacing the roads in McDermott Avenue and Tone Avenue will follow, which is good news for the residents of Old Mervue,” added Cllr McDonnell.
