Busy Autumn/Winter season launched by Town Hall Theatre Galway

Town Hall Theatre Galway this week launched its busiest Autumn/Winter programme ever with an outstanding line up of theatre, comedy, music, dance, musicals, film, and lots of special events for all ages!

Dylan Moran, Ruby Wax, Al Murray, James Vincent McMorrow, Lisa O'Neill, Mikel Murfi, Mary Coughlan, Bressie, John Creedon, and Sean Keane are just some of the big names of the Irish and international entertainment scene featured in the Town Hall’s October to December lineup.

Theatre highlights this season include critically acclaimed productions by Brokentalkers, Fishamble, Christian O'Reilly, David Joyce, Seamus O'Rourke, Peter Gowen and Patrick Cullivan and Studio performances by Ranch House Productions, Eoin Ryan, Eva's Echo and Wren Theatre.

Town Hall Theatre's extensive Autumn/Winter programme features many of the best dance companies in the country - Junk Ensemble, CoisCeim, Ballet Ireland and our very own Youth Ballet West. And one of the expected many highlights of this extended and very special dance season will be Floating On A Dead Sea, inspired by Catherine Young's experience visiting Palestine, an intensely powerful piece featuring Irish and Palestinian dancers. Not to be missed.

An eclectic music programme includes G4, Ronan Collins, The Celtic Tenors, Lisa O'Neill, James Vincent Mc Morrow, Mary Coughlan (extra performance added ), Robert Mizzel and Claddagh Choral (two concerts - each with special guests ). And in response to public demand, an extensive line up of tribute acts has also been included this season and features The Greatest 80s Show, The Mersey Beatles, the Elton John Show, ELO Again (a superb tribute to the great band led by Jeff Lynne ), Abba and the amazing as Elvis. And 9 Arch Musical Society Claregalway return with a large-scale production of the classic musical comedy Rock of Ages.

Galway comedy audiences will be spoilt for choice with Galway Comedy Festival as well as Sean Begley, Conal Gallen, Rory's Stories, Al Murray, David O'Doherty, Jarlath Regan (extra performances added ) and Emma Doran.

Very special spoken word events include TedX Galway, Bressie, Dr David Colman and John Creedon in conversation with Billy Keane about John’s new book. Other special events include Bingo Loco at the Black Box, the amazing Keith Barry, Galway favourites Dreamboys, and the annual Christmas Food and Craft Fair.

Events for families include Baboro Festival, Branar, Whistleblast, Joe the Magician and yes, the wonderful Renmore Pantomime! Productions by Salerno, Colaiste na Coiribe, Bangers and Crash, the eagerly awaited return of the popular Bish Bash and the annual Gael Linn Scleip along with PASG and Hession School of Dance ensure there is lots to choose from for Galway teenagers and young people.
