Independent Councillor Terry O’Flaherty has welcomed the news that Galway City Council has agreed to resurface the road in Tone Avenue Mervue, where work will commence shortly.
“I was successful in having footpaths reinstated in a number of avenues in Old Mervue and I’m now very pleased that the road in Tone Avenue is going to be resurfaced which will be welcomed by the residents,” says Cllr O’Flaherty.
“The city council could not carry out this work if the makeshift ramps (haunches ) were still in place so it’s a win-win situation to have had them removed in the first place.
“I would like to thank the roads engineer, Mr Noel O Ceallaigh and his team for all the good work they have been doing in Mervue,” she added.
