Independent councillor Donal Lyons has welcomed the announcement by consultants MKO of a Non Statutory Public Consultation process which commenced on Monday in relation to the proposed Kingston & Millars Lane Master Plan.
“As a local Councillor I am delighted that a Non Statutory Consultation process is underway. This is a project that I have been pursuing and I have been actively lobbying Galway City Council for some time to progress the Master Plan for the area,” he said.
Cllr Lyons added that this is an ideal opportunity for residents, schools, sporting groups in the greater Knocknacarra and Rahoon areas to become actively involved in the consultation process.
“In developing this project, the consultants will be using the sports elements as per the agreed 2018 masterplan but for all other elements they are seeking input from the community to inform the design process.
“Also, there is a public consultation event which will be held on October 17 between 1pm and 8pm in the Clybaun Hotel. I am urging the public to become involved in the consultation process,” he concluded.
