Welsh choir to perform special concerts for Galway Hospice

Internationally renowned Welsh choir Côr Meibion Ardudwy is set to perform special Memorial Concerts in aid of Galway Hospice this October.

The award-winning male choir will perform at Bearna/Barna Church on Wednesday 16thOctober and St Augustine’s Church, Middle Street, Galway on Thursday October 17, showcasing an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary choral pieces.

Côr Meibion Ardudwy, ‘The Men of Harlech’, was formed in 1953. Members are drawn from a radius of about ten miles from Harlech, an area where the Welsh language, one of the oldest living languages in Europe, is still spoken by the majority. The choir sings in a variety of genres – some pop, folk, and hymn tunes as well as classical pieces, and an eclectic mixture of old and modern Welsh songs.

The choir has performed in Denmark, Germany, Austria, Scotland, England, Brittany, Estonia, Norway, Poland and Cornwall in recent years. They have been frequent visitors to Galway and Connemara in the past 35 years. They last performed concerts in Galway in 2019, to sell-out audiences.

Admission to their Galway concerts is €10 per person, with children under 12 years free. Tickets are available from Galway Hospice in Renmore, by calling Galway Hospice Fundraising on 091-770868, online on galwayhospice.ie/shop and at the door. All funds raised go to Galway Hospice.
