Slieve Aughty Centre hosts Weekend in The Hills

Weekend in The Hills to be held by the Slieve Aughty Centre in collaboration with CELT (Centre for Environment Living and Training ) on Saturday 28 to Sunday 29 of September.

There are 15 workshops to choose from, such as needle felting, mixed metal and silver jewellery, longbow making and wood carving.

Lunches are included and camping is on site.

CELT is a working example of Sustainable Development and Green / Well-being Economy at grassroots level, directly connecting people with their environment and empowering them in accordance with UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Through guided walks, talks, they connect local communities with their natural environment. Using traditional and ecological skills training they connect people nationwide with Irish natural and built heritage. They have a reputation for unique, attractive events with professionally delivered skills workshops combining theory and practical learning that cater for all ages and gender and there are special children workshops. Celt also encourage and help landowners to plant more trees and to manage woodlands and agroforestry projects sustainably for biodiversity. They support environmental campaigns and those against harmful activities.
