Disco Scots back in town

High Fade from Edinburgh

High Fade from Edinburgh

Edinburgh’s disco trio High Fade, known for their razor-sharp funk sounds, will return to Monroe’s Live on Friday, October 4.

The band recently released their single ‘Bone To Pick’ from their forthcoming debut album Life’s Too Fast recorded at London’s iconic RAK studios.

It is the next step for this popular Scottish band. Together, they merge the soulful influences of John Legend and Barry White with the rock energy of Kiss and Motley Crue, bringing a modern sound filled with rhythmic disco grooves, funk, and soul.

Since its formation in 2018, High Fade has experienced a meteoric rise, honing their skills on the busking scene in Edinburgh before capturing the attention of global audiences. A grassroots approach to promotion and the launch of their own label, RPN Records, have been key to their success.

Leveraging the power of social media, the band created viral hits with tracks like ‘Sharpen Up,’ ‘Burnin,’ and ‘Burnt Toast and Coffee’. These amassed over 30 million views within six months of release.

The trio is Harry Valentino on guitar and vocals, Oliver Sentance on bass, and Calvin Davidson on drums and vocals. It has received accolades from industry heavyweights such as Jack Black, Cypress Hill, Deep Purple’s Glenn Hughes, and Brad Wilk of Rage Against The Machine. Their sound is characterised by fierce electric guitar riffs and rapid-fire percussion.

High Fade’s influences span a wide range of genres, from old-school to classic rock. The three-piece has also embraced electronic music, crafting official remixes tailored for the club scene.

Support on the night is from Galway band Amos Moses, formally known as Ol' Times. Hailing from the city, they are a classic rock outfit drawing inspiration from legendary acts like Led Zeppelin, The Doors, and The Rolling Stones, with a mix of acoustic and electric guitars, percussion and keyboards.
