Maxi Zoo, Ireland’s largest speciality pet retailer, is set to open its 34th store in Ireland and its first in Galway. The new outlet will open its doors in mid September at The Plaza on the Headford Road in the city.
The store will stock a wide selection of pet products, as well as providing free pet weighing, tailored pet advice and free parking. The retailer caters for all companion animals including dogs, cats, birds, fish, small animals and wild birds. Maxi Zoo prides itself on its large range of products, including many Irish brands.
To celebrate the Galway store opening, a family fun weekend is planned in-store on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 of September, with face painting and balloon modellers on site to provide entertainment. The red carpet will be rolled out, providing photo opportunities for dogs, who are all welcome in-store. To mark the opening there will be 20% off everything at Maxi Zoo Galway from the Friday 13 to Sunday 15 of September.
Speaking ahead of the opening, Head of Marketing at Maxi Zoo Ireland Anthony Cremin said they are delighted to open their first store in Galway.
“It’s been a busy year - we also opened stores in Portlaoise, Killarney and Dublin, so this is the fourth outlet we’ve opened since January. Our continued expansion is a true testament to our staff and customers. Our love of animals is at the heart of the business at Maxi Zoo and we are always striving to provide the best products, facilities and offerings to them.
“We are proud to support Irish jobs and charities along the journey and it’s important to us to stock a number of Irish brands. We look forward to welcoming families and their furry friends to the Headford Road for a weekend of celebrations,@ he said.
Established in Ballincollig, County Cork in 2006, Maxi Zoo now boasts a range of over 8,000 products with stores in 17 counties. The retailer has 33 stores in Ireland with free parking, free pet weighing and free pet advice. 13 of their stores are kitted out with grooming salons where expert groomers treat dogs to an all round ‘feel good’ package from head to paw. The latest expansion marks the company’s growth across the country, now employing 360 staff.
The company has actively engaged in supporting various animal charities across Ireland since its establishment, raising hundreds of thousands of euros through numerous campaigns.
Celebrations at Maxi Zoo Galway get underway from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 of September. Maxi Zoo is a pet friendly store so people are encouraged to bring all the family and your furry friends.
