New author John O'Donnell from Gort has released his debut novel, Wolf-Blessed, an adventure story set in a fantasy world.

The book follows the story of Arica, a young woman who has wanted nothing more than to become a member of Haella’s Imperial Army, and the day has arrived where she will take part in a test of wills: the Trial.

But things do not go as planned, and without warning, Arica is thrust into a world of magic she thought only existed in stories. Now, after discovering that the world she thought she knew is not what it seems, she is left to fight battles against old evils. Will she be victorious to save her home, her people and the world?

O'Donnell’s intricate world-building to make Wolf-Blessed combines elements of found family, mysticism, and action. This novel is designed to appeal to readers of all ages who are drawn to stories of self-discovery, courage, and the eternal struggle between good and evil. O’Donnell draws inspiration from The Lord of the Rings and Throne of Glass. When he’s not writing, O'Donnell is a primary school teacher in Galway.

“I’ve always loved fantasy in all formats; the freedom and creativity that you can have with it is truly special,” says O'Donnell. “Wolf-Blessed is my attempt to create a world where people can escape to and enjoy, just like other authors have done for me.”

Wolf-Blessed available online from Dubray Books, Waterstones, and Amazon. The novel is also available in eBook format on Kindle Unlimited.
