Having quickly established himself as a formidable artist, Casper Walsh, formerly one-half of the renowned hip-hop duo Versatile, will bring his solo work to Monroe’s Live on Thursday, September 26, at 10pm,
Earlier this year, he released his debut single, ‘Simmer Down,’ which has taken the Irish and British music scenes by storm.
The track held the Number Two spot on Ireland’s independent charts, just behind Hozier’s hit single ‘Too Sweet.’ It also made its mark on the official charts, remaining in the Top 30, and broke into the UK official Top 50.
The song has become a viral sensation, topping the TikTok charts in Britain and Ireland for April and May, and climbing to the top of Spotify's viral charts in both countries.
This debut solo single was a collaborative effort with top industry talents, including acclaimed filmmaker and musician Ovie Etseyatse, who directed the music video, and long-time Versatile collaborator Evan Kennedy, who mixed the track.
As a member of Versatile, Walsh played sold-out shows at Dublin’s 3Arena and has played mainstage at festivals including Longitude alongside Cardi B and Stormzy.
His single’s success has positioned Walsh as a major player in the Irish music industry, with more solo material on the horizon.
