The award-winning team at Blackrock Cottage have introduced some tasty new dishes to their brunch and dinner menus. The popular restaurant at the end of Salthill Promenade has become a firm favourite with foodies all across Galway and beyond, and there is no doubt that this revamped menu will win some more new admirers in the coming weeks and months.

Blackrock Cottage is open for dinner from Thursday to Monday evenings from 6pm.

Among the dishes that have been added to the dinner menu are Silver Hill duck, pan-roasted hake, Morgan 8oz ribeye steak, roast autumn squash and plaice Milanese, while the extremely popular Korean chicken poke bowl is also available. New starters include Andarl Farm pork al pastor, beef cheek ravioli and gin cured mackerel, while summer lobster broth, prawn pil pil and sweet corn fritter are also still on the menu. Dinner reservations can be made via the Cottage’s new website — www.blackrockcottage.ie

There is also no shortage of choice when it comes to a drink to accompany dinner. ‘The Cottage’ craft beer, an unfiltered lager that is the result of a collaboration between Blackrock Cottage and Galway Hooker Brewery, has been in big demand since its launch this summer. The new lager — which has a floral and spicy hop aroma, complemented by subtle bitterness on a slightly bready, malt base — is on sale in both Blackrock Cottage and in the nearby Blackrock Cottage Pantry. There is also an extensive range of cocktails (including non-alcoholic options ) and wines, while Guinness is also available on draught.

The Cottage, which was named Best Restaurant in Galway earlier this year, has also revamped its brunch menu. Patrons can now choose from a list that includes coffee braised beef brisket tacos, grilled chicken Caesar flatbread, tempura prawn bao bun, ham hock, Cheddar and carmelised onion sandwich, crispy fish finger sambo, and a Blackrock poke bowl. Old favourites like marinated chicken salad and dry-aged rib-eye beef burger are also available.

Meanwhile, the brunch menu also features a number of breakfast items — which are served until 3pm — such as the classic local full Irish, croissant Benny and lemon and chilli avocado on sourdough — which both feature poached eggs — and the beautiful buttermilk protein pancakes.

Blackrock Cottage is open seven days a week from 8am serving breakfast, with brunch and lunch available from 12.30pm. Reservations can be made online or at (091 ) 399280.
