MIDC Páirc na Mara is launching an innovative pilot programme for transition year in seven Gaeltacht secondary schools in Galway for the 2024-2025 school year. This programme will focus on marine renewable energy and sustainability, emphasising sustainable development goals.
The key aims of the programme are to raise awareness about marine renewable energy; develop understanding of sustainability; foster social responsibility among students; and encourage active participation in a sustainable future.
As part of this initiative, MIDC Páirc na Mara is recruiting a qualified teacher as a project officer on a one-year contract. The appointee will be responsible for developing and implementing the programme, working from the Údarás na Gaeltachta offices in Na Forbacha.
This pilot scheme is part of a broader vision to promote the Green Gaeltacht and create new opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

"We strongly believe that it will nurture a new generation of leaders who will be committed to the environment and sustainable economic development in our Gaeltacht communities."
